03 — THE CRAFT
How a system gets built
01
Survey
Infrastructure diagnosis
INSTRUMENT · THE SURVEYOR
We read the estate before we touch it. The Surveyor measures your public systems from outside: response times, server and runtime versions, the libraries each page loads, certificates and security headers. With your logs, we trace the slow paths through the API gateway. Then we put a figure on what it costs you each year. Nothing is quoted before this is done.
02
Blueprint
Architecture & fixed scope
INSTRUMENT · THE QUANTITY SURVEYOR
The target architecture, the migration path and the fee, agreed on paper first. The Quantity Surveyor prices the work from the survey: the hours, the technical debt and how critical the system is. Every line of the fee is shown, so you can see what each part costs.
03
Build
Staged delivery
INSTRUMENT · STAGED RELEASES
Built to the blueprint and moved across one service at a time, so the business never goes dark. You follow every stage on a live preview, and tests gate each deploy. Go-live is a date in the contract, not an estimate.
04
Keep
Continuous hypercare & enterprise SLA
INSTRUMENT · THE FOREMAN
The estate stays under watch after launch. The Foreman re-runs the survey on a schedule and flags anything that slips. Security patches go in as they land, queries are tuned against real load, capacity is added before it runs short, and an engineer is on call inside the hours your SLA sets.
